Holy Rosary School is a vibrant inner-city parish primary school located in Kensington, just 4 kilometres from Melbourne’s CBD. We are one of two Catholic primary schools serving the partnered parishes of Kensington and Flemington. Directly across the road is the beautiful Holy Rosary Church, a local historical landmark, and we are proud of the strong and enduring connection between our school and parish community.
We are a passionate Catholic school committed to providing an inclusive and welcoming education for all. Families from diverse cultural backgrounds and faith traditions are part of our community, and we celebrate this richness every day. As a school, we are guided by the example of Catherine McAuley and the Mercy Sisters and we encourage our students to use their gifts and talents to enhance our community.
Our school is home to 245 students from Prep to Year 6, across 11 classes: 2x Prep classes, 3x Year 1/2 classes, 3x Year 3/4 classes, and 3x Year 5/6 classes. Students learn in a warm and nurturing environment that supports their individual strengths and encourages growth. Through evidence-based, explicit teaching, and a differentiated curriculum, we ensure all learners are supported and challenged to reach their potential.
We offer five specialist subjects—STEM, Japanese, Physical Education, Art and Music—as well as a range of enriching opportunities. These include interschool sport, a school musical production, an art show, and a wide variety of excursions, incursions and camps.
Holy Rosary is a place where every child is known, valued, and encouraged to thrive.
