Library

We are fortunate to have a welcoming and well-resourced library that is enjoyed by all students. The library plays a central role in our commitment to fostering a love of reading and supporting literacy across all year levels. Our library is open daily, providing students with access to a wide range of reading materials.

Each class has a weekly library session with their teacher where students share stories, explore different genres, enjoy quiet reading time, and have the opportunity to browse and borrow books. Students may borrow up to five books at a time, with a loan period of 14 days.

We work to instill a lifelong love of reading in every student. Reading is promoted daily in classrooms and throughout the school. Each year, students are encouraged to take part in the Premier’s Reading Challenge, and we celebrate Book Week with great enthusiasm.

Book Week, promoted by the Children’s Book Council of Australia, is a highlight of the school year. It offers a wonderful opportunity to celebrate literature and storytelling, with engaging activities for both students and staff.

New books are added regularly to our collection, and students are encouraged to suggest titles they would like to see on our shelves.

Families can also support their child’s reading journey through Scholastic Book Club and our annual Book Fair. Book Club catalogues are sent home up to twice per term, offering a range of books for all ages.

The Book Club LOOP platform for parents allows purchases to be paid by credit card from home. The student’s order is submitted directly to school and the books are delivered to class. Student orders can be placed at scholastic.com.au/LOOP or using the LOOP app, which can be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play.
